Leadership Team

Roska is a founder-led company with a leadership team of highly experienced people drawn from the production, operations, engineering and field construction areas of the oil and natural gas industry. Nearly all of us have experience from both the producer and service sides. Most of us are from the North, and all of us live and work in the region where we do business.

We have devoted our careers to the energy industry, and we have built our business from the ground up. We are committed to serving the needs of our customers, to keeping our employees and the people in our talent pool safe and gainfully employed, and to working in an ethical and fair manner with all of our service providers.

Clayton Roska President/General Manager

Clayton is a founding partner and has led the company since its inception in 1995. As President, he is responsible for strategic planning, shaping the overall organization, driving continuous improvement, and providing day-to-day leadership and direction to the Roska management team. He also continues to be accessible to every Roska employee.

Clayton is committed to creating and growing the company based on long-term customer relationships. To that end he creates value for customers by fostering an organization that is able to meet the expanding requirements of customers for projects while fulfilling traditional customer needs for fast-response provision of people and equipment.

Before joining Roska, Clayton began his career with Petro-Canada, where he gained technical skills and exposure to many facets of the oil and natural gas producing business in Calgary, Fort St. John and Grande Prairie. Clayton also spent time working in the agricultural sector with DowElanco (now Dow AgroSciences) and Northern Vigor Seeds. Clayton's first exposure to the oil and gas sector came in 1982 at Petro-Canada's Utikuma field, where he worked as a summer relief field operator while an engineering student.

Clayton was raised in Inuvik and Tuktoyaktuk, Northwest Territories, and holds a B.Sc. in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Alberta. He has lived in Grande Prairie and Fort St. John for more than 25 years. Clayton has always aspired to be a farmer and in his spare time continues to operate the family grain farm south of Westlock, Alberta.

Don King Staffing Manager

Don joined Roska in August 2015 as Manager, Staffing Services, following a period spent assisting Roska as a management consultant specializing in the areas of business process management, strategic planning and system design. In his current role he is responsible for ensuring that Roska continues to provide excellent operations staffing, matching qualified job-seekers with customer requirements. Don is committed to adding customer value by ensuring that customers receive smooth, efficient service with no surprises and by finding creative, collaborative solutions to business problems.

Before joining Roska, Don worked for Kogawa Consulting Ltd., where he consulted in a wide range of industries including telecommunications, shipping, energy and utilities. He also matched consulting resources with customer requirements in a business model very similar to Roska's Staffing Services. Don holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Alberta (1986), with a double major in accounting and finance. In 1996, he earned an MBA from the University of Calgary, with a specialization in strategic planning.

Don was raised in Edmonton and moved to Calgary in 1989. In his spare time, Don enjoys coaching hockey. He has four sons and has been able to coach them all at some point over the last 20 years.

Jeff Clark Contract Operations Manager

Jeff has been with Roska since 2000, starting as a field operator and start-up/commissioning operator. In 2004 he was promoted to Production Coordinator and in 2013 to Manager, Contract Operations. He is responsible for the Contract Operations unit, which works with customers to produce oil and gas, looking after the day-to-day operations of field sites and gathering stations, including production reporting. Jeff is committed to helping customers and staff achieve their goals, such as safely and economically producing oil and gas or building a gainful career.

Jeff's first exposure to the oil and gas sector came in 1990 when he worked for Nyllad as a summer student mowing leases, painting and relief operating and production coordinator.

Jeff was raised on a farm in the Peace Country and has lived in the region for nearly 40 years. He has been involved with many organizations over the years, including minor league hockey, minor league soccer, 4H, Peace Area Motor Sports Association, Extreme Sprints, and The Kids with Cancer Society. In his spare time, Jeff races sprint cars with his wife Heather and their five children. Before racing cars, Jeff raced on the pony chuckwagon circuit. He finds 700 horsepower much more fun than 2 or 4.

Duane Weiser Engineering Manager

Duane has been Roska's Engineering Manager since May 2011, after joining the company in June 2009 as the Engineering Team Lead. As Engineering Manger he is responsible for guiding the engineering group including mentoring, setting standards, helping with designs and answering questions.

Duane is committed to adding customer value by providing real solutions that work in the field. Duane believes that the customer's needs come first. His approach includes ensuring each of his team members is trained and capable of making site visits to see customer issues firsthand, which contributes to realistic engineered solutions.

Before joining Roska, Duane was Engineering Manager at Aztec Engineering Inc. Prior to that, he was a project manager and engineer at Autopro Automation, working on forestry and solar energy projects. Before that, he worked in H.A. Simons Ltd.'s mining group in Vancouver, and before that, he was a process engineer with Chemetics International Ltd.

Duane's first exposure to the oil and gas sector came in university taking a course on oil processing. Prior to entering the energy sector, Duane designed chemical plants and travelled internationally to start-up sites he designed. Duane holds a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from UBC (1987) and in 1991 became a Professional Engineer registered in B.C., followed by Alberta in 1998 and Saskatchewan in 2009.

Duane has lived in the Peace Country since the late 1990s. A single parent, he has been deeply involved in the community with his children's activities including as a Beavers and Cub Scout leader, assistant soccer coach and various school activities. In his spare time, Duane enjoys fishing, hunting, gardening, swimming and cycling.

Rina Sibbeston Controller

Rina has been Roska's Controller since joining the company in 2006. She is responsible for overseeing all of the organization's financial aspects, process improvement, strategic planning, and providing information for management decision-making. Rina is committed to adding customer value by working with her colleagues to find solutions for Roska's customers, overseeing the company's financial resources to ensure it can meet customer demand, solving problems, helping others, and continuously reviewing Roska's systems and processes to protect and enhance the company's financial resources, provide relevant and accurate information to others for decision-making, and meet regulatory requirements.

Before joining Roska, Rina worked for BDO Dunwoody LLP, where she completed her CA designation and worked as a manager overseeing engagements from large audit clients to smaller owner/operator files. Prior to that, Rina was Manager, Accounting at Northern Transportation Company Ltd. in Hay River, Northwest Territories, where she supervised the accounting functions and provided financial reporting.

Rina's first exposure to the oil and gas sector came in 2006 when she joined the Company. Rina holds a Chartered Accountant designation (2005) and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Saskatchewan (1998). Rina has lived in Grande Prairie since 2002, where she is deeply involved with her daughter's school and sporting activities. In her spare time, Rina enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter camping, going to Edmonton Eskimos and Edmonton Oilers games and travelling.

Craig Stewart Purchasing and Warehouse Manager

Craig has been Roska's Manager of Purchasing and Warehouse since joining the company in August 2014. He manages a team of five, who are responsible for the day-to-day purchases for operations, project buying, staging of equipment and materials, inventory, and cost control through vendor management. Craig is committed to adding customer value by ensuring that Roska meets the customer's needs by supplying the best possible product at the best possible price, on time and accurately, to build unparalleled relationships.

Before joining Roska, Craig spent 12 years working in environmental waste management for Tervita and Newalta Corp, where he held senior management roles looking after various business units, capital budgets and projects, as well as optimization and reorganization initiatives in Texas. Craig's first exposure to the oil and gas sector came in 1981 in the oilfield supply business, where he spent the following 22 years in sales, management, ownership and corporate director roles.

Craig was born and raised in Medicine Hat and has lived in the Peace Country since 1983. He is deeply involved in the community, coaching kid's soccer and volunteering with community projects such as the Food Bank drive, community clean-up and Neighbourhood Watch. In his spare time, Craig enjoys spending time with his wife, three daughters and two grandchildren, as well as playing golf and hockey, and staying active with trips to the gym or pool and working around the yard.

Cindy Drysdale Manager Corporate Services

Cindy joined the company in June of 2000 working in the accounting group. In the spring of 2003 she took over the Office Manager position that at that time encompassed managing the accounting group, Human Resources, IT and the administrative staff. As the company grew and our Controller was hired, Cindy's title eventually changed to Manager, Corporate Services which better defined her role and the many hats that she wears, excluding the accounting/financial side, but adding some special projects to the mix.

Cindy is committed to contributing to Roska's continued growth and success by supporting the company's staff and management team through a high level of commitment to employee and leadership development. Mentoring employees to reach their potential is a continuing goal and she enjoys watching others achieve greater heights in their careers.

Before joining Roska, Cindy spent over 17 years at Scotiabank, working her way through various positions from teller to loans administrator to accounting supervisor, where she accumulated important skills related to financial matters.

Cindy had some prior knowledge of the oil and gas sector with her husband working in an associated part of the industry, but her first direct exposure came when she joined Roska's predecessor company in 2000. Cindy holds a variety of certificates in Human Resources and accounting from Grande Prairie Regional College and various other institutions.

Cindy was born in Berwyn, Alberta and has lived in the Peace Country her entire life. She has been deeply involved in the community as leader of her children's school parent council, parent leader of a local 4-H club, member of the Dimsdale Community Agricultural Society and past member of the Grande Prairie Agricultural Society. In her spare time, Cindy enjoys family time with her children, grandchildren and friends, golfing, travelling, photography and camping.

Nancy Carless Business Process Improvements Manager

Nancy has been Roska's Manager, Business Process Improvements since joining the Company in September 2014. In this role she is responsible for contract reviews and Company insurance policies, plays a significant role in the implementation of Roska's ERP system, and is involved in the Company's strategic planning and development of budgets. Nancy is committed to adding customer value by working with the sales and operations teams to provide quick turnarounds on customer concerns, participating in continuous improvement and finding more efficient processes, and doing what it takes to get things done right within Roska's framework of values.

Before joining Roska, Nancy worked for Campbell Chapman Chartered Accountants in Stettler, Alberta, where she completed her Chartered Accountant's designation in February 2004. Following this she worked as controller for Jiro Enerflex, a division of Enerflex Ltd. which manufactured small-horsepower compressors. In 2009 she was promoted to be the parent company's Manager, Business Development in Calgary, where she was involved in reintegration of a business unit in Europe, disposition of non-core assets the analysis of potential mergers and acquisitions. Nancy became Enerflex's International Controller in 2011, overseeing the finances and accounting of the international business units.

Nancy's first exposure to the oil and gas sector was in high school as a temporary summer receptionist at her father's office, where he was a superintendent of oil and gas operations in southern Alberta. Nancy was raised in Medicine Hat and holds a B.Comm. degree from the University of Calgary as well as her CA's designation. Through work opportunities she has enjoyed travel around the world, which is a passion of hers outside of work as well.

Jarret Mann Business Development Manager

Jarret has been Roska's Business Development Manager since rejoining the company in 2010. He is responsible for sales, marketing and customer coordination on projects. He is also a member of Roska's Asset Team (Equipment) and is the quality control advisor to the company's Standards Group. Jarret is committed to adding customer value by thoroughly listening to and fully understanding the customer's needs and challenges, and then drawing from Roska's wealth of resources to develop a fit-for-purpose solution. He also adds value by being part of the team that defines Roska's standard equipment specifications so that each piece is optimized for use both on its own and as part of a complete system.

Prior to rejoining Roska, Jarret held various roles with Dynacorp Fabricators Inc. Before that, he was with the Company. Jarret's first exposure to the oil and gas sector came in 1996, doing shop manufacturing and field installation of pre-cast concrete secondary containment systems.

Prior to entering the energy sector, Jarret worked as a Civil Engineering Technologist in Training for the B.C. Ministry of Transportation and Highways, performing lab tests and field sampling in civil road construction. Jarret holds a Civil Engineering Technology certificate from NAIT, graduating in 1996. Jarret was raised in Nelson, B.C. and has lived in Alberta since 1994 and in Grande Prairie from 1998 to 2006. He enjoys camping, golf, hockey and river canoeing. Married with two children, Jarret is deeply involved in his daughters' sports activities.
